City of Refuge Virtual Tour
In its mission to facilitate qualified ex-offenders to successfully transition back into society, Matthew 25 Ministries offers safe and affordable housing while our residents rebuild their lives. New residents just arriving into our community after being released from prison are housed in two-man "transitional housing" to help re-acclimate to life outside of confinement. When the resident is ready, the are moved into their own private room.
We have been working with ex-offenders for a long time, and our support system is proven in that no one that Matthew 25 Ministries has approved for residency within our community has ever committed a crime of a similar nature as their index offense since moving in.
Jacob's Destiny Church is a non-denominational, independent church located in the heart of the City of Refuge and is one of the places residents can go to learn about spiritual healing and God's love. All residents are encouraged to regularly participate in Jacob's Destiny's services and events or another place of worship of their choice in surrounding communities.
Sunday service is at 9am, with a Discipleship Class & Bible Study on Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
Visitors are always welcome! Come join us for fellowship, joy, and worship to God.
Throughout the Gospel, Jesus teaches us to love. To love everyone as we would a neighbor. To love a neighbor as we do a friend. To love friends as family. To love our family just as we do ourselves. To love ourselves with the same awesome love as we have for Jesus.
That is the way we are here at Matthew 25 Ministries' City of Refuge. EVERYONE - whether they live here or not - is our neighbor/friend/family/part in the whole that is the body of Christ.
Jerry has been working with Matthew 25 Ministries for four years, first as a volunteer driver and then as the intake coordinator. He is also a member of the worship team at Jacob's Destiny Church and every year he produces and directs the Christmas in the Village holiday production. He currently lives at Matthew 25 Ministries City of Refuge with his pug, Prince.

34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. 36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’
40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
