A BUMP IN THE ROAD
Just when we thought everything was set for us to complete our agreement to lease the property for our “City of Refuge,” we met a bump in the road. We were not able to get the school board to move the bus stop in front of our property, making it necessary for us to relocate the 25 families with children.
Although we had a game plan for this, our intent was to spread this out over a six month period. Now it must be done right away in order for us to fulfill the vision God has given us for this property. Now instead of having 40 beds to fill, we will need to occupy close to 100 student beds as well as attempting to find employment for these men, a seemingly insurmountable task in today’s economy. But God!
We will need the use of a moving truck and many volunteers. We will start doing this ASAP. If you can help, call Pat Powers on his cell 863-801-1261.

MOUNTAIN MOVING FAITH
This thing of water walking gets pretty hairy at times. When I think of the task before us, I get weak in my knees. If we didn’t know that “All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose,” we wouldn’t even try.
We will need to process hundreds of applications in order to select the best prospects for the program. Those selected
will need to go through an orientation process and be evaluated as to their job skills. We know we will need to start several industries to employ some of our men. This comes at a time when many businesses are failing due to a weakened economy.
Will you help us furnish 50 apartments? We will use twin beds and would appreciate donations of new or like new sheets and many household supplies. Donations may be dropped off at 3152 Rostan Lane in Lake Worth.

Great is Thy Faithfulness
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed,
because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him,
to the soul that seeketh Him. (Lamentations 3:22,23,25)
It is only because of the faithfulness of the Lord that we have not given up hope. We have great plans for this venture. We plan on developing several cottage industries to employ the men. Currently we are considering the following businesses: Lawn maintenance, mobile auto detailing, commercial laundry, and woodworking.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to read the autobiographies of applicants as part of the screening process. This is an urgent need. Call Dick or Maggie at 561-432-9072.
We are looking for advisors as we explore ideas for starting new cottage industries.
In Pahokee we need help working with new arrivals; for case management, developing specific goals, and with the orientation process. Call Pat at 863-801-1261.
